Faithkeepers Trail

Enjoy this meditative journey along the Trail of the Faithkeepers.   Let it provide a few quiet moments in the midst of your busy day to connect with God and your inner self.  As you experience the tranquility of the trail, we offer some of our Maxims for you to ponder.
The “maxim” was a popular literary form in the 17th century.  Initially, the Maxims of Perfection were written by Jean-Pierre Medaille, SJ, a missionary and spiritual director who recognized and encouraged the determination of the early Sisters of St. Joseph to follow Christ.  For those who “aspire to great virtue,” the Maxims call for stripping of self and imitating Christ in his hidden and public life.  Because they incorporated Fr. Medaille’s teaching, the Maxims became important for the Sisters from the beginning.
The trail, located on the grounds of our Community Living Center, is named to remind us of our early Sisters – and our present ones – who have kept the spirit and traditions of our Congregation alive.  The Native Americans honor their Faithkeepers because they preserve the culture, traditions, and beliefs of their people.  This land has been home for both groups.  Together, these Faithkeepers beckon us to life itself.

Come back often…the trail will always welcome you just as will we should you be able to visit in person.
